The four-storey building was constructed on 70 square yards by one V Laxman a few years ago.

On Tuesday evening, the building suddenly tilted creating a scare among the people. One of the occupants, Iqbal, jumped from the building out of fear and suffered injuries. He was rushed to hospital for treatment.

The house owner, Laxman, said a property owner had excavated the earth in an adjacent plot for constructing a cellar, due to which the foundation of his building got disturbed and the structure tilted.

The officials now plan to demolish the building as it poses a threat to those living nearby.

However, the officials are yet to finalise the protocols and method to be applied to dismantle the building, considering the approach roads are narrow and the locality is heavily populated.
