Hyderabad: Is Vasthu compliance of Gandhi Bhavan plaguing the fortunes of Congress party in the State? Well, the newly appointed party leadership in the State feels so and has roped in Vasthu experts to recommend a few changes and some modifications are being made accordingly at Gandhi Bhavan.

With the newly appointed Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president A. Revanth Reddy set to take charge on Wednesday, the party is aiming to complete these works before the occasion.

As per the vasthu experts’ recommendations, the gate at the canteen end is likely to be made the entry gate, while the existing gate will be utilised as out gate. This apart, the Prakasham Hall end gate is also expected to be used as an alternate gate during VIP visits.

Further, the entire space at Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Bhavan is also being spruced up and the damaged flooring is being renovated. An outlet which sells party scarfs, flags and other paraphernalia and the security room are also likely to be relocated. A fresh colour coat for the entire Gandhi Bhavan is also being planned.

It is a general practice in the party. Every time, a new leader takes charge as the new TPCC chief, he tries to make some modifications in Gandhi Bhavan to suit their horoscope. All this is done in the hope of reviving party fortunes, said a senior Congress leader. “This was done by former Chief Ministers Marri Channa Reddy and YS Rajashekhar Reddy and former Minister Botsa Satyanarayana before taking charge as PCC president in the United Andhra Pradesh” said the senior Congress leader.

Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy held a meeting with the minorities’ leaders in the party at former Minister Shabbir Ali’s residence to discuss arrangements for the swearing in ceremony, which is likely to be on Wednesday.

Addressing on the occasion, he charged that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was a pseudo secular and appealed to the minorities to reconnect with the Congress party to defeat communal forces. He said BJP has been polarising the elections by accusing the Congress party of Muslim appeasement. Congress party never appeased any particular community and ensured social justice by giving equal opportunities to all the communities without any discrimination, he added.
