Hyderabad: Two persons who were illegally selling and storing a huge quantity of tobacco products at Bhongir were caught by the Rachakonda Police Special Operations Team on Sunday. The police seized tobacco products worth Rs. 3 lakh from them.
Acting on a tip off, the SOT team along with the Bhongir police raided a kirana store in Bhongir and took Manaram Dinesh (28) and Gajji Ravi (38) into custody while J Ashok (29) of Mallapur managed to escape.
“The trio were sourcing the contraband from different places in Hyderabad and selling it illegally,” said P Venkateshwarlu, Inspector (SOT), Bhongir, adding that the two arrested persons were handed over to Bhongir police for further action.
