Toddy tapper dies on top of tree in Sircilla
A toddy tapper died after collapsing atop a toddy tree while at work in Jillella village of Thangallapalli mandal in Rajanna-Sircilla district. Police suspect cardiac arrest as the cause of death and have registered a case for investigation

Rajanna-Sircilla: A toddy tapper, identified as Saili Kishan Goud, died in a tragic incident while tapping toddy atop a tree at Jillella village in Thangallapalli mandal on Friday. Though the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained, a cardiac arrest is suspected to have led to his sudden demise. According to villagers, Kishan Goud had climbed the toddy tree as part of his routine work and collapsed while on top of it.
His body was found hanging upside down on the tree. Other toddy tappers noticed him but were unable to rescue him in time. On being informed, police rushed to the spot, retrieved the body and shifted it to a hospital for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway.
