Tolichowki police SI caught accepting Rs. 10,000 bribe by ACB

Hyderabad: A Sub-Inspector of Police working at the Tolichowki police station was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a Rs. 10,000 bribe on Tuesday.
According to the ACB, the officer, R. Pandu Naik, an SI at the Tolichowki police station, had allegedly demanded the bribe in return for not registering a case against the complainant based on a complaint lodged by his mother, settling the family dispute amicably and not seizing his passport.
Acting on the complaint, the ACB’s City Range-I unit laid a trap and caught Pandu Naik while he was allegedly accepting the Rs. 10,000 bribe. The tainted amount was subsequently recovered from his possession, officials said.
He was arrested and was being produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases at Nampally for judicial remand.
The case is under investigation.
