Hyderabad: Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud on Friday said the State government was planning to develop a tourism circuit in every Assembly constituency in the State.

In addition to these, eco-tourism facilities will also be developed at all the reservoirs in the State, he said during question hour in the Legislative Assembly here.


“The entire State is being divided into five regions – North, South, East, West and Central. The idea is to develop tourism circuits and facilitate access to such places from Hyderabad within a couple of hours, he said.

Replying to a question by Achampet MLA G. Balraj, the Minister said 15 eco tourism parks had already been developed in various areas including Somasila, Singotam, Eagalapenta, Bogota, Pakala, Ali Sagar, KCR Eco park in Mahabubnagar and other places.  A total of Rs 246 crore was spent towards development works in these parks, he said.

On Balraj’s appeal to develop tourism prospects and generate employment opportunities for local people, the Minister said a base camp, trekking and parking facilities had already been developed at a cost of Rs. 10.35 crore at Uma Maheswaram. Development works were taken up At Akka Mahadevi caves also at a cost of Rs. 1.25 crore, he said, adding that a review meeting will be held on Saturday with the forest department to explore the possibility of taking up different development works in Nallamalla forests and Prataprudruni Fort.
