Hyderabad: A tourist couple from the city was allegedly assaulted at the Panaji bus stand in Goa following a dispute over bike rental charges.
According to available information, the victims, whose identities are yet to be confirmed, had returned a rented bike on time. However, the rental operators allegedly demanded an additional Rs 200.
When the couple questioned the extra charge, an argument broke out between them and the bike rental operator, which soon escalated into a scuffle.
The victims alleged they were attacked by a group of men—local bike rental operators near the bus stand—resulting in head injuries to the man, while his pregnant wife suffered facial swelling after being assaulted. The couple was later shifted to Goa Medical College for treatment.
Based on a complaint, the local police are investigating the matter.
