Hyderabad: A group of tourists from Hyderabad, who were stranded in Uttarakhand, were rescued by officials after intervention of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Malkajgiri MLA M Hanumanth Rao and officials on Tuesday.
Sushma, a resident of Radha Krishna Nagar colony from Malkajgiri, along with a few of her friends from the city and other places had got stuck in a resort at Jim Corbett Park following the floods in Uttarakhand. The hotel they were staying in was submerged till the first floor, according to reports.
The colony residents had taken up the matter with officials and sought help from the Union Minister in a tweet. In response, the Minister directed the officials to take up rescue operations. They were rescued and are already on their way to Delhi, from where they are expected to head back to the city.
