Hyderabad: TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud hit back at former Minister T Jeevan Reddy for demanding the removal of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, calling the remarks unwarranted. The former Minister had recently quit the Congress after raising dissent over priority being given to turncoat MLAs and the functioning of the State leadership.

Speaking informally with media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, Goud said Jeevan Reddy should remember that the Congress had given him a B-Form 14 times. He said the public was unlikely to take his criticism of the Chief Minister or the party seriously. Goud said Jeevan Reddy should have understood the situation within the party and worked accordingly. He questioned his authority to seek the Chief Minister’s removal.

The TPCC president also alleged that the BRS and the BJP were no different in their approach. Responding to allegations against Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Goud asked critics to avoid making baseless claims. He challenged them to present evidence and said he was ready for an open debate.

On speculation about a Cabinet expansion, Goud said the matter was entirely up to the Chief Minister. He added that, to his knowledge, there was no expansion in the near future.
