TPCC president defends Revanth Reddy’s comments on Lord Ram and Shiva

Hyderabad: TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud defended Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s comments on Lord Ram and Lord Shiva and rejected the demand for an unconditional apology.

“Why should he apologise? I am 100 per cent defending Revanth Reddy. Look-wise, Ram wears a lot of ornaments. He looks rich, whereas Lord Shiva, with no clothes, physically looks poor. That is the difference,” Goud said while speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday.

The TPCC president, however, said, “We have affection towards both the Gods and pray to them. We wish both the Gods bless us.”

Goud further accused the BJP of playing politics in the name of Lord Ram. “Ram is a God, a God to all of us. And the BJP is trying to own Ram and fetch votes in the elections. This is not a good practice,” he said.

At a conclave in New Delhi on Monday, the Chief Minister had said, “We South Indians are Dravidians, while leaders from North India are Aryans. We are Shiva bhakts, while North Indian leaders are Ram bhakts.”

He further said, “Sri Ram is the God of the rich, while Shiva is the God of the poor.”
