Hyderabad: Courting controversy, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud on Thursday warned government officials, including IAS officers, to mend their ways, failing which the government would be forced to “think seriously”.

Right from low-level to senior officers, there was lethargy in execution of duties. As a result, the Congress government was getting a bad reputation, he said at a press conference in Gandhi Bhavan.

“Through the media, I am warning officials. A few officials, including MROs to IAS officers, are not delivering their duties and this is generating a bad name for the government. They are lethargic,” Goud said.

One should bear in mind that irrespective of politicians and officers, they were public servants. Many complaints were being made against officers, he said, adding that, “On record, I am warning officers, including MROs or IAS officers, if they fail to deliver their duties efficiently, the government will think seriously.”

Meanwhile, Congress MLC candidate Vijayashanthi alleged that the BJP was going to dump all anti-Telangana forces in the State. “They are going to take Telangana back to square one,” Vijayashanthi said.

“The BJP wants to ensure their dominance. There should not be any Telangana agitation leaders left and no priority for Telangana people. This is what the BJP is planning in the State,” she alleged.
