TPJAC demands Revanth to act on Rs one crore ex gratia promise made to Sigachi blast victims’ kin

The Telangana People's Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) has appealed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to ensure payment of the pending Rs 58 lakh ex gratia to families of the Sigachi Industries blast victims.

Sangareddy: On behalf of the Sigachi Industries blast victim’s kin, Telangana People’s Joint Action Committee (TPJAC) wrote an open letter to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy appealing to him to resolve the issue of victims by making the management to pay Rs 58 lakhs of pending ex gratia with immediate effect.

Since the Chief Minister was scheduled to visit the Sangareddy on Saturday, the TPJAC decided to take the issue to the notice of Revanth again. Revanth, who visited the Sigachi Industries site a day after the blast occurred in Pashamylaram Industrial Area on June 30, 2025, had announced that he would ensure each of the 54 deceased’s kin would get Rs one crore as an exgratia. Even thirteen-and-a-half months after the blast, the management has paid only Rs 42 lakh to each of them which included the retirement and insurance benefits.

The deceased’s kin and the TPJAC have been constantly demanding the government to exclude the personal benefits from the promised Rs one crore ex gratia. However, neither the government nor the Sigachi management were taking any responsibility to pay the remaining Rs 58 lakh. 

Even though Sigachi management had openly announced that they would not be able to pay the remaining amount, the Congress government failed to take any action on them while the victims were fighting for justice in court. The TPJAC also released a list of their demands on this occasion.
