Hyderabad: The Telangana Progressive Teachers’ Federation (TPTF) demanded the Telangana Congress government immediately announce the Pay Revision Committee (PRC) and implement it.

TPTF additional general secretary Muthyala Ravinder on Tuesday said the Congress had assured to obtain the report of the PRC committee, which was appointed by the previous government, and announce the PRC within six months of coming to power.

“Even though more than two years have passed since the elections, the PRC has still not been announced. This is causing anxiety among government teachers and employees. We demand the PRC be announced and implement it immediately,” he said.

Welcoming the Dearness Allowance (DA), which was announced by the government on the occasion of Sankranti, Ravinder said while five DAs were already pending, announcing only one DA during the festival was unjust. He wanted the government to release the remaining DAs without further delay.

The TPTF also wanted the government to immediately clear teachers’ pending salaries, GPF arrears, life insurance claims, earned leave encashment, and retirement bills of pensioners that have been pending for several months. “The government must ensure all financial bills are paid in a systematic and transparent manner,” he added.
