Tractor driver dies as vehicle overturns in Telangana’s Kothagudem

Incident occurred when Rama Rao of Maredugudem was transporting ash bags in the tractor trolley from BTPS ash pond

Kothagudem: A tractor driver died as the vehicle overturned at Bhadradri Thermal Power Station (BTPS) near Manuguru in the district on Friday.

The incident occurred when the deceased, M Rama Rao (48) of Maredugudem in Pinapaka mandal, was transporting ash bags in the tractor trolley from the BTPS ash pond. The vehicle overturned as he lost control of it while crossing the ash pond bund.

The driver died on the spot after suffering serious head injury. Edulla Bayyaram police booked a case in connection with the incident. Adivasi organisations and the villagers demanded the BTPS management to support the driver’s family.
