Nizamabad: In erstwhile Nizamabad, many villages and mandal headquarters have voluntarily imposed lockdown and closed business establishments to prevent Covid-19.

In Salooora village of Bodhan mandal, the residents decided to close shops and business establishments voluntarily and passed a resolution not to allow outsiders into the village. The villagers are allowed to buy essential commodities for two hours in the morning every day.

Gandhari mandal headquarters Village Development Committee (VDC) and Gram Panchayat Committee took a joint decision a few days ago to impose lockdown in the village. They imposed the lockdown after witnessing rise in the number of cases in Gandhari mandal headquarters.

In Hasakotturu village of Kammarpally mandal, lockdown was imposed a few days ago. More than 100 cases were registered in Hasakotturu village.

After an abnormal increase in Covid cases, Telangana government decided not to allow vehicles from Maharashtra. Accordingly, officials closed borders with Maharashtra and closed Salabatpur checkpost at Madnoor in Kamareddy district and Saloora checkpost at Bodhan in Nizamabad district.
