Hyderabad: In view of the 552nd birth anniversary celebrations of Shri Guru Nanak and a religious procession being taken out on Wednesday from 3 pm, there will be certain traffic restrictions placed at Charminar, Ghoshamahal and surroundings between 3 pm and 11 pm.
The procession which begins at Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha, Ashok Bazar will proceed via Afzalgunj Island-Afzalgunj ‘T’ Junction-Siddiamber Bazar-MJ Market-Jambagh-Puthli Bowli-Ram Mandir-Central Guru Dwara Gowliguda, Shanker Sher Hotel and return to Gurudwara Shri Guru Singh Sabha, Ashok Bazaar. The expected gathering in this procession will be about 2,000 persons.
Accordingly, when the procession starts from Ashok Bazaar Gurudwara, Afzalgunj, the traffic coming from CBS towards Afzalgunj will be diverted towards SJ Bridge Rotary and when the procession crosses Afzalgunj ‘T’ Junction and proceeds towards SA Bazaar Mosque, vehicles from Afzalgunj will be diverted towards State Central Library Afzalgunj-Shivaji bridge-CBS-Rangamahal till the procession reach MJ Market.
Likewise, when the procession reaches MJ Market towards Jambagh, traffic from Charderghat will not be allowed from Rangamahal Junction towards Jambagh and diverted towards CBS, SJ Bridge, if necessary.
When the procession starts, vehicles from Madina and City College will not be allowed towards Afzalgunj and diverted towards Salarjung Museum-S.J.Rotary.
Similarly, after the procession passes Shanthi Fireworks lane, the vehicles coming from Afzalgunj and proceeding towards MJ Market will be diverted towards Feel Khana-Thop Khana-Alaska-Malakunta-Midas High School U Turn and MJ Market.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police requested the citizens to take alternate routes and cooperate.
