Traffic police caught 1099 persons for drunk driving in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad traffic police in the last week caught 1099 persons during the drunk driving checking conducted across the city.

The traffic police teams set up check posts around the city and caught 961 two wheeler riders, 39 three wheeler riders, 96 four wheeler drivers and three heavy vehicle drivers. Cases were registered against them.

A total of 470 persons among those caught are aged between 21 – 30 years, followed by 331 persons who are aged between 31 and 40 years, while 193 people are aged between 41 – 50 years. Only one woman was caught during the drunken driving check. Fifteen people recorded BAC level above 300.

The traffic police detained the vehicles and asked the offenders to appear before the court.
