Transportation of mangoes to Delhi through Kisan train service will continue till the completion of this season. The train will again carry fruits on April 14 and 19. The Railways has decided to carry fruits on 50 per cent subsidy.

There is a huge demand for Jagtial mangoes in north Indian States such as Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, traders used to transport fruits in lorries. Transportation charges have been enhanced in the wake of increase in diesel prices. Moreover, it takes 72 hours to transport fruits to Delhi in lorries. However, train will reach the national capital within 24 hours.

Jagtial Mango Traders Assocation general secretary, Sadik said transportation of fruits has become a huge burden in the wake of the increase of diesel charges. Besides saving transportation charges, train will also reach Delhi within one day.

BJP Kisan Morcha activists led by State vice-president Singireddy Kishan Reddy welcomed the train at Jagtial-Lingampalli railway station. They thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for arranging the kisan train.
