Fourteen-year-old transgender person strangled, bludgeoned to death in Nirmal
Police stated that Shashank, a transgender individual from the village, was killed on the spot after being attacked with a blunt object by another transgender person from the same village. The involvement of other transgender individuals is also under suspicion.

Nimal: A 14-year-old transgender person was murdered by some unknown persons on the outskirts of Chityala village in Nirmal mandal late on Friday night. The incident came to light on Saturday.
Nirmal Rural Inspector S Ramakrishna said that Adige Shashank, a transgender person from the village, died on the spot after being strangled and bludgeoned by Thokala Ramesh (34) of the same village.
According to the police, Rajeshwar had befriended Shashank at a toddy shop in the town. He took Shashank to a secluded place, where he killed the latter when he rejected Rajeshwar to have unnatural sex with him.
He strangled Shashank to death and then hit him on the head with a boulder before fleeing the spot.
Nirmal Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila and ASP Rajesh Meena inspected the scene of the offence upon receiving information. They made inquiries into the incident. Sharmila said that special teams were formed to nab the accused persons.
A murder case was registered against Rajesh based on a complaint received from Rajamani, the mother of Shashank. Investigations were taken up.
