Hyderabad: Noted author, scholar, and poet from Kerala, Aswathi Thirunal Gowri Lakshmi Bayi, a distinguished member of the Travancore Royal Family, visited the Chilkur Balaji temple in Hyderabad on Monday with her family.
The Padma Shri awardee, renowned for her writings on the rich history of Travancore and the revered Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, spent several hours at the temple, interacting with the Head Priest, C.S. Rangarajan.
“Her visit reaffirms the longstanding spiritual bond between the Archaka-cum-Trustee family of Chilkur Balaji Temple and the Padmanabhadasa Royal Family of Travancore,” the Head Priest said.
During the visit, she was presented with the August 2025 issue of VAK Magazine, highlighting a heartfelt appeal by devotees to the Attorney General of India, urging him to positively guide the Supreme Court in deliberations of the 143 Special Reference concerning the constitutional powers of Governors and the President.
The occasion underscored shared spiritual traditions as well as a collective commitment to upholding constitutional values and heritage, Rangarajan added.
