Tremors felt in parts of Mancherial

Mancherial: Residents of some parts of mancherial town and its environs were jolted when tremors were felt on Saturday.

According to locals, residents of Chunnambattiwada, Hi-Tech City Colony, Laxminagar, Gowthamigangar and many other areas in Mancherial and Coal Chemical Complex (CCC) Colony, Seetharampalli village in Naspur mandal experienced tremors for a few seconds at 2.03 pm. They said plates and glasses kept on tables fell off following the tremors. Some panic-stricken people ran out of their homes in some parts of Mancherial. Posts about the tremors went viral on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, some persons attributed the tremors to blasting activity by Singareni Collieries Company Limited for mining in opencast projects located around the town and at Seetharampalli.
