Trial run held on KPHB–Waverock corridor for dedicated bus lane

Traffic officials in Cyberabad conducted a trial run on the KPHB–Waverock corridor to assess the feasibility of a dedicated lane for TGSRTC and IT-company buses. The exercise, supported by transport and planning experts, also examined congestion along the JNTU–Biodiversity corridor.

Hyderabad: A trial run was conducted on the KPHB-Waverock corridor to examine the feasibility of providing a dedicated lane for TGSRTC and IT-company buses to facilitate faster movement during peak hours and help reduce traffic congestion.

The exercise was taken up as a follow-up to discussions with the Transport Department and TGSRTC. Road and city-planning experts accompanied traffic officials during the trial to assess traffic flow, road capacity and the feasibility of introducing a dedicated bus facility with minimal stops for faster movement.

The trial also focused on traffic conditions along the JNTU-Biodiversity corridor and examined possible measures to ease congestion, particularly during peak hours, said the officials.

The feasibility exercise is aimed at evolving measures to improve public transport movement and ease traffic congestion along the busy corridor.

Sunpreet Singh, Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad, and Sheshadrini Reddy, DCP Traffic-II, Cyberabad besides other police, transport and concerned officials, participated in the trial run.
