Adilabad: A 35-year-old tribal farmer was gored to death by a wild boar in the forests of Rajulumadugu village in Utnoor mandal on Sunday evening.

Locals said Kodapa Lakshman received grievous injuries when the boar attacked him while he was attending nature’s call in the forests. His wife, who was also with him, raised an alarm, but by the time locals rushed to their help, Lakshman had died. The body was then shifted to a government hospital in Utnoor mandal headquarters.

The couple was returning to Rajuluguda after visiting a weekly local market at the time of the incident.

Forest officials have gathered information about the incident. They said compensation will soon be extended to Lakshman’s family.
