Kothagudem: The leaders of Adivasi Hakkula Porata Samithi (Tudum Debba) asked police to take action against Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamy for his controversial remarks against tribal deities Sammakka Sarakka. The samithi district president S Koteshwara Rao and others submitted a petition to Superintendent of Police Sunil Datt here on Thursday in support of their demand and condemned Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s comments.
In a statement Bhadrachalam MLA Podem Viraiah demanded a public apology from Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. Government Whip Rega Kantha Rao also objected to the remarks of the seer. They said millions of people and devotees visit Medaram Jatara, the largest tribal fair in Asia and the seer’s comments have hurt the sentiments of the devotees.
