Tribal man drowns in Pranahita-Chevella canal in Mancherial
A 55-year-old tribal man, Arikilla Bheemaiah, drowned in a canal of the Pranahita-Chevella project at Jilleda village in Vemanapalli mandal. He reportedly entered a deep section of the canal for a bath while travelling to attend a tribal fair.
Mancherial: A 55-year-old tribal man drowned in a canal of the Pranahita-Chevella project while bathing at Jilleda village in Vemanapalli mandal on Monday.
Police said Arikilla Bheemaiah drowned after he ventured into a deep portion of the canal to take a bath. He reportedly did not know how to swim. He was on his way to attend a tribal fair at the time of the incident. His family members found the body in the canal while searching for him. Based on a complaint lodged by a family member, a case was registered.
