Tribal woman on pilgrimage with husband raped in Sangareddy

Sangareddy: A tribal woman was raped before her husband at Pasalwadi under the Sangareddy rural police station limits.
The woman (37), a native of Medak district had gone on a pilgrimage with her husband to Neradigonda in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh on February 2, to offer prayers to Sant Sevalal.
The couple, who went by foot, returned to Sangareddy on Friday night. They decided to rest the night on the premises of a temple near Pasalwadi. A youngster, who was sleeping close to them, attempted to rape the woman when they were in sleep. When the husband confronted the man, he was with a boulder.
The accused then took the woman into the nearby bushes and raped her and fled from the scene. The couple dialed the 100. The Sangareddy rural police, who reached the place, shifted the couple to the government hospital in Sangareddy where they were provided treatment.
The police tracked the CCTV footage and nabbed the accused Madhavan, a native of Nagapatnam in Tamil Nadu.The accused reportedly migrated to Sangareddy a few years ago. He had been working as a painter. He was produced before the court.
