Tribal youth washed away in Asifabad stream; second drowning in three days
An 18-year-old tribal youth from Kethini village was washed away while crossing a flooded stream in Chintalamanepalli mandal. His body remains missing. This is the second drowning incident in the Adilabad region within three days
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: An 18-year-old tribal youth was washed away while crossing a flooded stream between Kethini and Dimda villages in Chintalamanepalli mandal on Thursday.
Police identified the deceased as Sedmeka Suman, an Intermediate student from Kethini village. He was returning home from his farm when the incident occurred. While trying to wade through the swollen stream, he was swept away by the strong current.
A search operation has been launched to find his body, which remained missing till late in the evening.
This is the second such drowning in the erstwhile Adilabad district within three days. On July 8, Addala Rajender (25) of Adilabad town was swept away in a stream while trying to fish near Vaddadi village in Tamsi mandal. His body was recovered on Wednesday.
