Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao handed over three electric autorickshaw vehicles to three persons hailing from semi-nomadic tribal families in Siddipet town on Sunday.
After handing over the keys and documents to the beneficiaries at a programme, the Minister drove the vehicle carrying the three beneficiaries in the back seat. Venkatesh (Veerabdria caste), Naresh (Veera Musti caste) and Kumar (Holiya Dasari) are the three beneficiaries. He sensitised the three beneficiaries on how to lead a better life operating the autorickshaw.
The Minister said Telangana government was the first in the country to extend all support to the most backward classes by creating a corporation for them. Later, Harish Rao also handed over Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the wife of a person who was electrocuted. Adhikam Yadaiah, a native of Ravurukala, died of electrocution two years ago. After local TRS leaders brought the issue to the notice of Harish Rao, he got Rs 5 lakh granted to Yadaiah’s wife Anjavva from TS Transco on Sunday.
