Hyderabad: A solemn wreath laying ceremony was organised at Veerula Sainik Smarak to commemorate Vijay Diwas, marking the Indian Forces’ victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War, here on Tuesday. The ceremony paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and General Officer Commanding (GOC) Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA) Major General Ajay Misra laid wreaths at the memorial. Officials from the Ministry of Defence, veterans, and families of the bravehearts also participated in the ceremony.
In his address, Governor Verma highlighted the bravery and selflessness of the Indian soldiers who fought for the nation’s sovereignty and integrity. Vikramarka emphasized the importance of remembering and honouring the sacrifices made by the armed forces.
Major General Misra reaffirmed the Indian Army’s commitment to safeguarding the nation’s security and unity.
