Triptii Dimri relives magic of ‘Bulbbul’ with a sprinkle of nostalgia

Triptii Dimri revisited her acclaimed film Bulbbul, sharing nostalgic Instagram stories that delighted fans. The actress also introduced her pet Lychee and teased her next film O’ Romeo with Shahid Kapoor.

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Triptii Dimri, who enchanted audiences with her hauntingly beautiful performance in the 2020 period horror-mystery Bulbbul, took a stroll down memory lane as she rewatched the film.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Triptii shared a picture of her television screen with Bulbbul playing on it.

“It’s that kind of night… Me, Bulbbul, and a little nostalgia,” Triptii wrote as the caption.

She then posted a picture of the moon and wrote: “The after effects of watching Bulbbul.”

Bulbbul also stars Avinash Tiwary, Paoli Dam, Rahul Bose, and Parambrata Chattopadhyay. Set against the backdrop of the 1880s Bengal Presidency, the film revolves around a child bride and her journey from innocence to strength. It follows a young woman who grows into an enigmatic figure ruling her household, hiding her painful past as supernatural murders of men plague her village.

Triptii had her first lead role in the romantic drama Laila Majnu (2018) but gained critical recognition for her performances in Anvita Dutt’s Bulbbul and Qala. She later rose to mainstream fame with supporting roles in top-grossing action films such as Animal, Bad Newz, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Last month, Triptii introduced her new fur baby, Lychee, to her followers. She shared photos on Instagram posing with her pet in the car, along with videos of Lychee exploring his surroundings and playing with toys on his comfy bed.

“Our family just got bigger 🐶 Welcome home, Lychee ❤️🥹,” she captioned the post.

Triptii will next be seen alongside Shahid Kapoor in O’ Romeo, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The upcoming gangster drama, also starring Nana Patekar and Randeep Hooda, is set in Mumbai in the 1990s and explores the post-independence underworld through a love story.

The film, a high-octane action thriller shot in picturesque locations, marks the fourth collaboration between Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj after Kaminey, Haider, and Rangoon. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, O’ Romeo is set to release on February 14.
