Hyderabad: Telangana’s Trishant Reddy Dandu from Open Minds School, Hyderabad rallied to defeat Thirumurugan from Sankara Vidyalaya, Tamil Nadu 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 in the final to clinch the boys singles title in the AITA Championship under-16 series at Sania Mirza Tennis Academy on Friday.
The girls’ singles title was won by Harshini Viswanadh from SFS School, Visakhapatnam who too had to fight back before beating Laxmi Siri Dandu from Open Minds, Hyderabad 6-7 (7-9), 6-3, 6-4.
