Warangal Urban: Alleging that the TRS government failed to develop Warangal city despite funds allocation by the Centre under several schemes, BJP State President and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar said on Saturday that his party would win the mayor’s seat of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) election.
He also alleged that the State government has been diverting funds allocated to Warangal under Smart City Mission to other schemes.
As part of the election campaign here, Sanjay participated in a roadshow covering Kazipet, Hanamkonda, and Warangal cities. “We are overwhelmed by the response to our campaign from the public. The TRS MLAs are resorting to land grabbing by encouraging goondas and rowdies,” he said, adding that the ruling party had allotted tickets to several criminals.
“I urge Warangalites to teach a lesson to these rowdies and goondas in the election. The BJP will develop the city if it comes to power in the GWMC,” Sanjay said.
Later, speaking to the media, the BJP MP alleged that the TRS government had failed to check the spread of COVID-19 cases in the State. “The State government tried to hide the actual figures related to the deaths of people due to COVID-19. Due to this, people are under the impression that the pandemic is over. But the second wave is hitting hard,” he said.
Meanwhile, BJP leaders released a charge-sheet with 18 points on Warangal city. The State government has failed to allot land for Mamnoor airport and it has not approved the KUDA Master Plan, the charge-sheet said.
