Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Sunday said the TRS government’s objective was to develop the State besides implementing welfare schemes for all irrespective of politic affiliations that had led to significant change in the lives of people from all sections of society.
Speaking after laying the foundation stone for developmental works in Suryapet municipality at a cost of Rs 2.13 crore, he said that political parties should confine politics to elections and there should be no room for politics in implementing developmental programmes and welfare schemes. “The TRS government has stuck to this principle in the past six and half years, leading to the State witnessing rapid development besides ensuring that the benefits of welfare schemes reach all the eligible beneficiaries across the State,” he said.
The Minister said it was because of this principle that peace prevailed in the district which had seen the death of several persons in political clashes before the State formation.
Listing out the projects sanctioned to Suryapet by the state government in the last six and half years, he said that integrated modern market, medical college, mini-tank bund and expansion of roads have changed the face of Suryapet. He asked the people to cooperate for implementation of development programmes in the town. He announced that development of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Suryapet would also be taken up soon.
He said that focus was also laid on development of the villages, which have merged in Suryapet municipality.
Later, the minister has also launched the distribution of autos to the selected beneficiaries under driber-cum-owner scheme.
Suryapet municipal chairperson Perumalla Annapurna, District Libraries Chairman Nimmala Srinivas and municipal councilors of different wards also attended the programme.
