TRS intensifies campaign for KMC polls
Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali along with Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and TRS Floor Leader in Lok Sabha Nama Nageswar Rao addressed election rallies on Saturday.
Khammam: TRS Party has intensified its campaign with an objective to register a sweeping victory in Khammam Municipal Corporation (KMC) elections.
Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali along with Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar and TRS Floor Leader in Lok Sabha Nama Nageswar Rao addressed election rallies at various places in Khammam on Saturday.
Ali addressing the public said the TRS government led by the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was working with an agenda of ensuring welfare of the people and achieving development of the State. Minority community was treated with great respect by the government.
He said the Chief Minister accorded great importance to the education of SC/ST, BC and minorities. Residential schools and colleges were established for all the communities. Around nine lakh SC/ST and BC students were studying in residential institutions.
Before 2014 there were only 12 minority schools and after TRS came to power as many 204 schools and 83 intermediate colleges were set up for minorities and around 91, 000 minority students are studying in them, the Home Minister explained.
He called upon the voters to see the development the city witnessed in recent times and vote for the TRS candidates. He wanted the voters to compare the past and present situation in terms of infrastructure development in Khammam before casting their votes.
A lot was done in terms of development of the city under the leadership of minister Ajay Kumar and a few issues were left to be addressed as the previous governments never focused to improve infrastructure for the convenience of residents in the city.
To achieve all-round development of Khammam the TRS candidates have to be elected with a huge majority, the Home Minister appealed to the voters adding that there was no need for other political parties in Telangana.
Later on the day a meeting with the TRS division in-charges, contesting candidates and senior leaders in the party was held at a function hall to discuss about the election campaign and how to make it more effective.
ZP Chairman L Kamalraj, Former minister Tummala Nageswar Rao, MP Nama Nageswar Rao, Kothagudem MLA Vanama Venkateshwar Rao, Sathupalli MLA S Venkata Veeraiah, Jubilee Hills MLA Maganti Gopinath, MLC B Lakshminarayana and others took part in the meeting.
The leaders called upon the candidates and the party workers to make use of the next few days to contact the voters with a door to door campaign seeking their support as the campaign would come to a close on April 27 with the revised schedule of the SEC.
Minister Ajay Kumar stating that the party was able to satisfy all sections of the society in the selection of the candidates, urged the party leaders and workers to make committed efforts for the party’s victory in the elections.
