Hyderabad: TRS MLA A Jeevan Reddy wanted TPCC president A Revanth Reddy to take note of the rampant drugs abuse in Congress-ruled Punjab before speaking about the crime rate in Telangana.

Taking a dig at the TPCC president, Jeevan Reddy said during the Congress regime, rowdy-sheeters continued with their activities at will in Hyderabad. Since the TRS government came into power, the police had controlled crime in the city as was being done in Singapore and Bangkok, he said.

“The Congress appointed a high-level committee to clip the wings of Revanth Reddy and show him his place,” Jeevan Reddy said, addressing the media here on Tuesday.

The MLA termed the Singareni Colony incident as unfortunate and said the State government would punish the offenders involved in the heinous crime. The State government will render justice to the girl’s family, he said. He wanted the Opposition leaders including BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar to desist from using foul language. The BJP leader’s padayatra programme was an utter failure as people were being mobilised from other districts for the programme, he charged.

The BJP State leader should exert pressure on the Central government to sanction projects for Telangana and prove his commitment to the welfare of the people of the State, he said, adding: “Telangana people will continue with their support to TRS and both Congress and BJP will have to pull down shutters after the 2023 general elections,” Jeevan Reddy said.
