Warangal Urban: TRS leader and former Director of SAAP Rajanala Srihari donated Rs 5,000 cash to Yamsani Srinivas, a journalist, who has been undergoing treatment at a private hospital for the Covid-19, here on Friday.
Srihari also assured to provide further assistance in all forms to Srinivas, who is very poor and sole breadwinner of a family of four members. The TRS leader also visited several other private hospitals which are providing treatment to the Covid-19 patients to instill confidence among them. Srihari said that he had been trying to extend support to the Covid patients and others during this lockdown period responding to the call given by TRS working president and IT and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao.
Referring to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s visit to the MGM Hospital on Friday, Rajanala Srihari said, “Our Chief Minister paid a visit to Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad and MGM Hospital in Warangal, which are designated to treat Covid-19 patients from across the State, in an attempt to infuse confidence among the patients. He visited the emergency, ICU and outpatient facilities and interacted with the patients and doctors. It is a great gesture,” he said, adding that Rama Rao was also continuously monitoring the pandemic crisis and helping many patients by supporting their family members with their immediate and emergency needs like beds, vaccines, oxygen supplies, Remedisivir, Medicine for Black Fungus, etc.
Meanwhile, several journalists also extended financial support to Yamasani Srinivas. Speaking to Telangana Today, Press Club, Hanamkonda, president Thumma Sridhar said they had provided Rs 20,000 cash to Yamsani Srinivas for Covid treatment on behalf of the Press Club. He also added that leaders from both the Unions of working journalists are trying to help the journalists who were infected by the Covid-19. “We have also given Rs 25,000 each to the kin of Srinivas, a cameraman, and Shivaprasad, a journalist, who died of Covid recently,” he added.
