Hyderabad: SC and ST legislators and Parliament members from TRS lodged a complaint with the police against BJP leaders and the party’s social media activists who were spreading fake videos and news on social media, tarnishing the image of TRS elected representatives. They alleged that the BJP leaders were resorting to character assassination of the legislators using fake videos and photos.
In a complaint given to Additional DG Jithender, a delegation of TRS elected representatives led by Government Whip Balka Suman urged the police to take up a suo moto case and initiate stern action against BJP leaders and activists who were posting defamatory fake videos and morphed photos of TRS SC and ST MLAs on social media. He wanted the police to register SC and ST atrocity cases against those involved in these activities.
“The social media wing of BJP is spreading morphed videos and photos of SC and ST legislators of TRS in a bid to assassinate their character, without any concern for our families. Such personal attacks will not be tolerated and those involved will not be spared,” he said.
He pointed out that BJP State president Bandi Sanjay, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and others too had families, but the TRS cannot stoop down to their level in personal abuse. He stated that though accusations and criticism were common in politics, one should not drag the personal life and families of the leaders for political mileage.
Peddapalli MP Venkatesh Netha, MLA Aroori Ramesh and other leaders also spoke on the occasion.
