KARIMNAGAR: TRS lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer against BJP candidate for Huzurabad bypoll Eatala Rajender for making baseless allegations against the party.
In its complaint, the TRS said that Rajender, while participating in an election campaign, alleged that the TRS workers were planning to distribute Rs 20,000 to Rs 50,000 to each voter besides 2 kg mutton and Rs 2,000 per voter on the occasion of Dasara festival.
Moreover, Rajender advised the people to take the money from TRS and vote for him. His utterances not only amount to criminal offences but also constitute serious violation of poll code, the complaint said, adding that the comments were baseless, and requested the CEO to stop Rajender from making such statements.
The TRS also lodged a complaint against the BJP leaders for attacking a TRS activist in Bornapalli. Nampalli Jagan, a native of Bornaplli, was attacked by three BJP activists Nampalli Suman, Angerika Raju and Nimmala Sanjeev in the intervening night of October 10 and 11, the TRS said in its complaint. Stating that the BJP leaders were trying to terrorise the voters, the TRS wanted the poll body to instruct the police to take action against the accused.
Meanwhile, Government whip and Chennur MLA Balka Suman lodged a complaint with Election Commission of India against Rajender. In the complaint, the MLA said that Rajender and BJP leaders were deliberately blaming him and implicating him in a road accident that took place at Bhimpalli of Kamalapur manal on Monday evening. He said he has no connection or role in the accident and the death of autorickshaw driver.
