Hyderabad: The TRS government was developing link roads apart from laying new roads for the people. The BJP-led NDA government at the centre, on the other hand, was closing roads on lands belonging to it, TRS working president KT Rama Rao said referring to the closed roads in the Secunderabad Cantonment area here on Thursday.

“You people should decide whom you want to support, whether it is those who close roads or those who develop new roads for you,” Rao said while addressing people during a roadshow at Anandbagh Crossroads.

The long pending RuB works at Anandbagh Crossroads were completed and one side of it was already being used by the motorists. Within a few days, the RuB would be opened for the public, he announced amidst loud cheering from the people. There were some delays because of court issues and after resolving them, the State government had completed the RuB construction, he said, adding that the TRS government was providing drinking water to the people in Malkajgiri assembly constituency after laying pipelines at a cost of Rs.350 crore.

In the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, residents in the constituency along with those residing on the city outskirts used to get drinking water once in a week. But they were now getting water on alternative days because of the initiative of the TRS government.

“This is our commitment towards the people,” Rao said. adding that drinking water and power supply problems were solved with the water supply to soon become a daily affair as well.

With the support of the people, the TRS had won all the nine divisions in the constituency last time, he said, requesting the public to extend similar support this time also. TRS MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao had visited the affected areas during the recent floods, but the Congress MP had not visited nor helped the public, he pointed out.
