Nalgonda: TRS State secretary Chada Kishan Reddy on Monday said that there was a good response from the people for the TRS membership drive not only in urban and rural areas but also in tribal areas.

Participating in the TRS membership drive conducted at Peddavoora, Pulicherla and K K Naik thanda in Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly Constituency here, Kishan Reddy said people have been voluntarily enrolling as members of the TRS with an intention to back the ruling party for its welfare schemes and development programmes. “In the last six years, the TRS government has ensured equality in the development of urban areas and rural areas. The schemes, which were taken up by the State government for revival of caste-based professions and irrigation facility provided to cultivable lands have resulted in the economic development of the villages,” he added.

He reminded that Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubharak, KCR Kits and residential schools for girls have helped in putting an end to discrimination against the girls in society. He pointed out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has also increased pension to Rs 2,016 per month, which was the much-needed support to the elderly people at that age.

Stating that more than 1,300 tribal hamlets have been upgraded as gram panchayats by the TRS government, Kishan Reddy reminded that the hamlets have witnessed significant development ever since tribals were given an opportunity to have their political representation which also increased after the initiative.

He said the Chief Minister has succeeded in bringing the lost glory to the agricultural sector in Telangana State after the State formation. The State government has instilled confidence in the farmers by extending investment support under Rythu Bandhu and providing insurance coverage to them. In addition to irrigation facility through canals, the significant improvement in groundwater level due to filling up of the village tanks with river waters also boost the agriculture under borewells in the state.

Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) member Abbireddy Krishna Reddy, TRS leaders Ravi Naik, G Venkat Reddy, Brahmanandha Reddy and J Laxmaiah were also present.
