Hyderabad: The Lok Sabha proceedings were adjourned twice on Wednesday amid continuous protests by members of the TRS over farmer issues. This is the third consecutive day that the House was disrupted since the winter session of the Parliament commenced on Monday.

The TRS members raised slogans and displayed placards over farmer issues in the Well of the House during the Question Hour. Speaker Om Birla told the protesting members it was not the right thing to do and emphasised that the Question Hour was important. He urged them to stop, but in vain.

Less than 30 minutes into the Question Hour where only four questions were taken up, the Speaker adjourned the proceedings till noon even as TRS MPs continued their protests. Though the House resumed functioning after 12 noon, the TRS MPs trooped to the Speaker’s podium and disrupted the proceedings, forcing him to adjourn the House again till 2 pm.

The Rajya Sabha too was adjourned twice on Wednesday following an uproar by Opposition parties on various issues. The Rajya Sabha members from Congress, DMK, AAP, Left and Trinamool Congress stood on their seat, while TRS members came into the Well sloganeering and showing placards, raising its demand on national policy on food grains procurement.
