Sangareddy: A former Telugu Desam Party legislator from Zaheerabad Assembly constituency, Baganna passed away in Hyderabad on Friday night. Finance Minister T Harish Rao who attended the funeral on Saturday announced that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would construct a house for the family members of Baganna, as he did not own a house anywhere. Harish Rao said Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has allotted a piece of land in Zaheerabad so that a house could be constructed.
Speaking after attending the funeral, Harish Rao said Baganna was known for his simplicity. He led an exemplary life and his family members did not have money even to pay for his medical bills and hence, MLC Fariduddin and MLA K Manik Rao helped the family in clearing the bils. A statue of the former legislator would also be installed in Siddipet. Baganna (70), who started his political career as a Panchayat ward member in 1977 of his village Gopanpally, held various positions during his 40 year-long political career. Baganna is surrvived by two sons and two daughters.
Zaheerabad MP BB Patil, MLC MD Fariduddin, MLA K Manik Rao and other leaders attended the funeral. People from all walks of life from Zaheerabad Assembly Constituency paid floral tributes.
