Nalgonda: The TRS is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the party candidate wins the Nalgonda Local Authorities Constituency MLC election, particularly in view of rumours doing the rounds that Congress was planning to extend its support to an independent candidate three days before the polling.

Rumour has it that a Congress MP from erstwhile Nalgonda district had hatched a plan to swing into action just three days before polling to lure TRS ZPTCs, MPPs, MPTCs and Municipal Councilors in support of the independent candidate who is a Congress ZPTC member in Yadadri-Bhongir district.

According to sources, the TRS decided to conduct a camp of its local bodies elected representatives outside the district to scuttle the efforts of the senior Congress leader. TRS leaders have set a target of over 1,000 votes for party candidate M Koti Reddy out of the total 1,271 electors in Nalgonda LAC. Followers of the independent candidate are reportedly spreading rumours that their leader would hold a camp with 400 voters.

Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy already held Nalgonda LAC MLC election preparatory meetings at Bhongir, Nakrekal, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mothkur with ZPTCs, MPPs, MPTCs and municipal councillors. This time around, people expected the elections to be held without the camp culture and flow of cash, but some leaders are out to spoil the atmosphere.
