Hyderabad: The TRS will stage protests across Telangana on Wednesday against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on bifurcation of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh and creation of Telangana State. TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao called the party leaders to stage demonstrations wearing black badges at all district, mandal and constituency headquarters.

In a tweet, Rama Rao termed the remarks as utterly disgraceful of the Prime Minister who had been repeatedly insulting the decades of spirited struggle and sacrifices of the people of Telangana. “Utterly disgraceful of you Mr. Prime Minister repeatedly insulting the decades of spirited struggle & sacrifices of the people of #Telangana. I strongly condemn the absurd comments of PM & demand that he apologise to the people of Telangana. (sic)” he said.

The TRS working president also expressed his disappointment over the Hijab row in Karnataka where the BJP government made uniforms mandatory for students attending classes in educational institutions and refused to allow Muslim girls from wearing head scarves.

“Very disappointed disturbed but the modus operandi is all too well known. Desh me kahi.. Mazhabi Tanaav Hai, Toh Samjho Ki, Koyina Koi Chunaav Hai.. (If there is any communal tension in the country, presume that elections are around the corner, (sic)” he stated. He was responding a netizen who stated that under BJP rule, Karnataka has been rapidly descending from a Silicon Valley to Saffron Valley.
