Hyderabad: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy has warned the BJP State unit chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar of legal action against him for terming Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as anti-national. The Minister questioned why does not the Union government which has intelligence agencies such as RAW and CBI under its control, investigate Chandrashekhar Rao and arrest him.

“If the BJP considers AIMIM as an extremist organisation, why did Prime Minister Narendra Modi meet Asaduddin Owaisi? Who said the TRS is in alliance with AIMIM in GHMC elections, when we are contesting in all the 150 seats on our own strength?” he asked. He said it was in fact the BJP that entered into an agreement with the Congress against TRS and they did the same in Dubbak. “We lost Dubbak because we were not alert enough,” Jagadish Reddy said, addressing the media in Telangana Bhavan on Friday.

While agreeing to a debate on the development of Hyderabad, he said that people want relief at this juncture and not verbal challenges. “We are ready to participate in any debate and in a temple or a school. But the BJP should write another letter to the Centre to reinstate the Rs 10,000 flood relief distribution programme, because Sanjay Kumar says he never wrote a letter to the Election Commission opposing the distribution in the first place,” he said.

“Both BJP and Congress dashed letters to the Election Commission to stop the financial assistance. Now when the people have started resenting their action, they are enacting dramas and blaming TRS for it,” he said. Commenting on the promise of scrapping challans of traffic violators in GHMC area, he wanted to know if the BJP-ruled States were paying the challans of violators from the State exchequer.

“Fines are imposed when a crime or a violation of law occurs. Will the BJP stand in support of such criminals?” he asked. He pointed out that BJP always played the Temple card at the time of elections, but the people of Hyderabad adore and respect Chandrashekhar Rao. “The TRS will win more than 100 seats in the GHMC elections to claim the Mayor’s seat,” he added.
