Nalgonda: Taking exception to the Union government issuing Gazette notification taking over irrigation projects in Telangana, TRS State secretary Thakkalapally Ravinder Rao on Sunday asserted that TRS would fight to protect the interest of the State with the same spirit displayed during the State movement.
Addressing the media along with Nalgonda MLA Kancherla Bhupal Reddy and Miryalaguda MLA N Bhasker Rao here, he said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao took up the irrigation project to provide irrigation to every acre of cultivable land in the State. “The agriculture sector regained its past glory due to the measures taken up by the State government and all areas were flourishing with green agriculture fields. Unable to digest this, the Narendra Modi government is conspiring to push Telangana into backwardness and loot its resources,” he said, adding that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was also a part in the conspiracy.
Stating that the Centre’s conspiracies would not work in Telangana, he warned that the Centre should keep in mind the fighting spirit of the people of Telangana, who achieved statehood through prolonged agitation, before taking any decision against the interest of the State.
