Karimnagar: Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao predicted that TRS candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav would win the Huzurabad by-election with 15,000 majority in the counting to be held on Tuesday. Unable to digest it, BJP leaders were spreading false propaganda, he added.
Speaking to reporters here on Monday, the Mayor said that Huzurabad people have extended their support to welfare schemes and developmental programmes being taken up in the state. With the fear of defeat, BJP leaders were trying to mislead people though the polling was held according to the constitution, he added. Unfortunately, BJP leaders, who were experts in misleading people by spreading lies and false propaganda, were making comments against the TRS party without knowing the difference between EVMs and VVPATs. Even, BJP candidate for Huzurabad by-election, Eatala Rajender, who worked as MLA for six times, also commented on changing of EVMS. It was embarrassing on the part of Rajender to make comments without knowing the difference between EVMs and VVPATs, he said.
The BJP leaders made all efforts to lure Huzurabad people and even resorted to threats during the time of election. However, Huzurabad people supported the ruling party, he asid. Unable to digest it, BJP leaders were ridiculing the people’s verdict through their cheap tricks and spreading lies, Mayor said and advised the saffron party leaders to stop cheap tricks at least now he added.
Referring to BJP leader’s comments that TRS non-local activists tried to elude Huzurabad people during the time of polling, he termed the allegation as false. Is BJP leader Tula Uma, who toured in Veenavanka mandal at the time of polling, a local candidate? he questioned. The BJP created hurdles to the proposed meeting of the Chief Minister in Huzurabad fearing defeat of its candidate. Stating that TRS was a responsible party, he said they (TRS) worked with an aim for the welfare of the people and sought votes with the same spirit.
