Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao.
Hyderabad: TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday exuded confidence that TRS will emerge victorious in the Nizamabad Local Bodies constituency by-election. He wanted the party cadre to fight the evil political forces which were trying to sabotage the development taken up by the TRS government and urged them ensure huge majority for party candidate and former MP K Kavitha in the by-polls.
In a video conference with the voters of the Nizamabad Local Bodies constituency, Rama Rao said the erstwhile Nizamabad district has been a stronghold of the TRS since its inception. He was confident that people of erstwhile Nizamabad district will support TRS once again in the MLC by-polls. “Farmers and elected representatives from local bodies should extend their support to TRS which has been implementing several farmers’ welfare and agriculture development programmes over the last six years,” he said. He promised to complete modernisation of canals and also start supplying water from Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme to the canals in Kamareddy and Yellareddy Assembly constituencies soon.
The Minister said the State government was trying to provide employment to the youth of Nizamabad district by setting up special food processing zones with focus on agricultural products. He stated that the State government was bringing in reforms to take the entire administration to the doorsteps of the citizens through the new Revenue, Municipal and Panchayat Raj Acts.
The TRS working president said some parties were resorting to cheap politics out of sheer jealousy as TRS was leading the State on the path of development. “Unable to confront TRS in public and compete in the elections, these evil forces are constantly trying to sabotage the election by creating a divide among people in the name of religion and caste. But by winning the MLC by-election, TRS will once again prove it’s position as an unstoppable political force in the State,” he said.
Rama Rao fired a salvo at the BJP leadership which brought the new Agricultural bills that were anti-farmer and intended to jeopardise free electricity scheme to farmers in the name of power reforms. “But we will continue to fight them and keep moving forward under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao who will fight even with God when it comes to the farmers’ welfare,” he said. He assured that the State government will soon resolve issues pertaining to special funds for ZPTCs and MPTCs. He pointed out that the State government had already addressed similar issued faced by the municipal corporators and councilors in urban areas.
