AP Reorganisation Act
Meanwhile, TRS Lok Sabha floor leader Nama Nageswara Rao introduced a resolution to put up an uncompromising fight till the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014, are fulfilled.
“The Centre did not carry out division of departments in the 9th and 10th Schedule and failed to grant national status either to Palamuru-Rangareddy or Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme apart from failing to allocate funds for backward districts, he said, adding that the Centre also did not grant national institutions to the State and failed to increase the number of Assembly constituency seats besides ignoring construction of highways in the State.
“At the time of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in 2014, the Centre made several promises but nothing concrete has been done till date. It also withdrew the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) sanctioned to Telangana and declared that the railway coach factory would not be established in Kazipet,” he said.
The Centre should accept the resolution passed in Telangana Assembly on SC categorization and increase reservations for STs and minorities apart from setting up a separate Ministry for Backward Classes.
He demanded that the Centre take a decision on holding ‘Backward Classes Caste Census’ along with the 2021 population census. “We will continue to fight against the Centre till it renders justice to Telangana,” he said.
