Hyderabad: TRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao will chair the TRS legislative party meeting at Telangana Bhavan on Tuesday. The meeting will discuss the Centre’s double-standards in paddy procurement as well as the State BJP’s efforts to create confusion on paddy cultivation among people especially farmers in the State. It will devise an action plan to effectively counter the false propaganda of the Opposition parties against the TRS government.
In the recent times, the TRS has upped the ante against the BJP in the State over the issue of paddy procurement. The BJP-led Central government made it clear that it would not purchase paddy for Yasangi season as it had adequate stocks available in godowns, following which the State government advised farmers against cultivating paddy and instead, take up cultivation of alternative crops. However, BJP State president Bandi Sanjay and other leaders have been asking farmers to take up paddy cultivation assuring that they would ensure that the State government procures paddy cultivated during Yasangi season.
Opposing the double-standards of the BJP leaders, the TRS activists took to the streets and staged demonstrations on last Friday. The party activists have been already asked to confront the BJP leaders in the State and question them to clarify their stance on the issue as well as demand them to clarify on paddy procurement by the Centre.
